High Hampton Inn was an amazing getaway! It’s hard to write in one post all that there is to offer. So I am going to split them up over the next week. You can read part of my experience in the area from Tuesday’s post. Now, let’s get on with it! Have you ever watched Dirty Dancing? Please tell me you did. Patrick Swayze was the man! (God rest his soul.) Anyhow, when I first heard of this Inn I went to their website. Looked around a bit. The only thing I could compare it to was the resort from Dirty Dancing without the dirty dancing. HA!
However, I had my own Patrick Swayze this past weekend, my hubby!
This Inn is located in Cashiers, NC. A beautiful and quaint mountain town. The town is filled with many unique shops. Honestly, I wish we had more time to stroll through but we were on a mission to get to High Hampton Inn! Just a few miles down the road, you will come to the entrance to High Hampton Inn. Driving in you see a small lake (Jewel Lake) and golf holes on either side of the road. As you drive back you come to the Inn. We knew as soon as we pulled up we were going to love it there! The porch was inviting. The building had bark as the siding! It was really cool.
Checking in was quite easy. To top it off Mark our doorman took our bags to our room for us and got us settled in with some ice. Thanks Mark! As you see, it was nice to have our bags taken for us! The path was narrow but the stone wall and well maintained landscape was really cool! They have a variety of cottages and homes. As well as rooms in the Inn.
Look at this breathtaking view off our porch.
The inside of the cottage I loved. It was just a one room with bathroom and fireplace but perfect for the hubby and I. I wish it would have been cold enough to use the fireplace!
As soon as we got there I took a nap. Yes it was just so peaceful, I think I took at least 3 or 4 naps while I was there. Obviously I was worn out. Ha! As I was sleeping Chasin took a walk around the lake. He came back with these cool photos of a tree that toppled over onto the path around the lake! Yes later, I did walk around the lake too and got to see it with my own eyes! Nature is amazing!
I don’t want to end this first post about High Hampton Inn without expressing one main thing about this resort. It is absolutely family friendly. As a matter of fact, all weekend long Chasin and I kept saying to each other the kids would love this or we should have brought the kids! So we are planning to take them the next time. As soon as we have funds to do so. I would love to share with you more about the kids activities in depth by experiencing it. However, I did make note of a lot of things to share in the coming posts.
My husband and I absolutely needed this getaway. After all we have been through the past 8 months with my cancer fight. It was much needed without the kids.
Do you ever take a vacation without the kids? Would you not love to experience the beautiful and peaceful Inn?
*Disclosure: We received compensation of two nights stay at High Hampton Inn in return for these posts. However, these words are my own.
Blessings,
Chele
