Wednesday Round-Up

Just wanted to share some great posts I’ve seen over the last week. As well as, a few I wrote! I hope you will go check them all out.

I now have a new found passion, green living. Well at least the part about recycling! I wrote about it yesterday.

If you don’t already know, I’m very passionate about my marriage as well. I shared some Tips for a Happy Marriage over at Type-A Parent yesterday. Would love to know what you think of my tips!

My photo of the week is from our adventure to Raleigh this weekend, that’s my 15 yo being eaten by a shark! Ha!

(He gets it from his Daddy! Crazy fun!)

Around the blogosphere:

  • My friend over at Red and Honey wrote about Wholehearted Homemaking it’s similar to the post I wrote a few weeks ago about not being a perfect Mama. I love that she is sharing struggles.
  • My sweet, talented and busy friend Danielle over at Extraordinary Mom shared Where my heart is… she was absolutely being real and raw about her children and traveling a lot. I love my bona fide friends!
  • Aurie over at Welcome to our Good Life wrote a challenge for us, to make Dresses for Africa. Please take a minute to see if you can help or join in by making some on your own!
  • How would you like to win $10,000? Yes I know.. sounds like it would take a lot. No think again! Go check out Ang England’s post over at Blissfully Domestic to learn more.
  • Okay and for a little of a controversial post… CNN shared Parents, don’t dress your girls like tramps! Oh it’s a good one!

Also while I have you, please pray for another blogger who has been fighting depression. She posted her own eulogy on her blog yesterday. However, after people online took steps to tell authorities and her family.. .they found her and she is safe and at a clinic for help. If you have ever dealt with depression (I have) you know how debilitating and hard to heal this disease is. Please pray for Summer Minor!

I would love to hear of a post you read in the past 7 days or that you wrote on your own blog in the comments! Come on tell me! :)

Until next time,

2010 Bona Fide Showcase

Hi all, just wanted to give a little shout out to some fantastic people and businesses on my sidebar!

  • My blogging friend and now IRL friend (Thanks to Type-A Mom Conference) that lives in the Charleston, SC area. If you know me, 1/2 of my heart is in Charleston! Anyway, she is my only Ad right now and I think you should go check out her blog!
  • My blogging friend and now IRL friend (Thanks to The Relevant Conference). Erin also is a team member of my site Gather Inspirit. She put together this beautiful page and put up with me doing it! Ha!
  • The Rusted Chain is someone who I’ve been following for eons! At least it feels like it. I’ve talked about her many times on The Bona Fide Life, Facebook and Twitter. You should really go add some of her products to your wish list or give in and buy!
  • Tommy Nelson is AMAZING! They have the working with bloggers thing figured out! They have been awesome working with me and understanding my reasons for not being on time with things lately. Thankful for businesses that have a heart!
  • Ocean Isle Inn is a local business and is the only business I know of in my area that realizes how social media/blogging can help them! That’s why I am happy to be a brand ambassador! Which also gives you an added bonus! I stayed their in November and it was an awesome experience visiting Ocean Isle Beach! Two NC bloggers and myself are helping them with the conference coming up in February. I will also be speaking! So why don’t you come?!
  • The Bona Fide Life supports two ministries at the moment. Please take a moment to check them out and help if you can. You can also read my showcase to learn more on how to help the Mercy House. The other is GiveBack which allows you to shop and get a percentage of your shopping donated to your choice of charities! Love it!
  • Gather Inspirit is a team site and yes I am the founder. However the team God gave me is BEAUTIFUL. I’m so thankful for them, they deal with me and my issues right now! If you are looking for a Inspiring, Encouraging and Uplifting community for Christian bloggers… you found it!
  • The One 2 One Network is an awesome community here to help us connect with brands! I am really enjoying this community!
  • My only affiliate at the moment is DaySpring. (yes if you click on it and Visit DaySpring Home Page and buy from their site, I will get a little cash!) And I DO support their products. Thanks to all the amazing products they were giving away at The Relevant Conference, I can honestly say that their products ROCK!
  • Thanks to my amazing friend! I’m going to Nashville to the Blissdom Conference! I cannot wait, hope to see you there! (Thank you Kelby, you gave the BEST Christmas present! HUGS!)
  • Speaking of Kelby, I will be attending the Type-A Conference in June 2011. This is Kelby’s baby and is where I met her in 2010. I also am now a contributor at her Type-A Parent site.
  • Lastly but definitely not least… NC Blog Buzz Network. My friend Sarah has put this together for the NC Bloggers so we are in one place and I love the idea! If you are a blogger from NC please go check it out! It’s not hard to get your link up there!

I hope you enjoy these businesses and blogs I’ve shared. If I didn’t enjoy them, they would not be in my sidebar! Please let me know if you are wanting to sponsor me or would like your ad on my page.

Have a safe and fun New Year!

Tis The Season to Give Back

I found this cool thing that One2One Network is participating in. It’s not the fact that I will be entered in a drawing for The Blissdom Conference pass, although that is a plus! ;) It is all about the idea they have shared! Yes I am a member of One2One Network and I’m participating in sharing this however… honestly something like this I would share anyhow!

You know by now that I am officially a Thyroid Cancer patient with no insurance. So I WILL be talking about The American Cancer Society more and more.

When I read what this GiveBack thing is, I was ecstatic! I can put money in my account and 100% goes to my choice of charity! As well as shopping through them to get a percentage towards my charity!

Especially at this time of year, what a perfect way to help others in need! By the way, they also put $5 in your account just for signing up and it’s FREE!

I hope you see this as an opportunity to give and please take time to check it out and share with your friends!

I have already went shopping to see the experience. I actually chose Target for some shopping and it was easy! I wasn’t logged in to my account at GiveBack so it redirected me to do so. I logged in and started shopping! They have almost any company you can think of, however they all have a different percentage that goes towards your charity. It is awesome and I will use it from now on!

It really is easy-peasy, if I can do it anyone can! :)

Be blessed my lovelies!
