The meals at High Hampton Inn are included with your room! Breakfast, lunch and dinner! I didn’t feel hungry at each meal because they fed you good! A huge shout out to our waitress we had all weekend long! When we first spotted Jenna, she was walking around the corner with a HUGE smile on her face. That is a must in working in this business! She was friendly, knew how to start a conversation and an overall great waitress! The really cool thing about the dining at the Inn is in the evening they ask the men to wear coat and tie and women to dress accordingly. How often do you get to dress up for dinner? It was a nice change of speed for us!
The only thing I wish I would have known about food and drink is that there was not a small fridge in the room. We were not prepared for no fridge and therefore we didn’t have any cold drinks between meal time. Although, they did have drinks you could buy around the resort but still we were not prepared. We will be prepared for that next time but I can assure you that you will not leave the Inn hungry! The Inn feeds you like Grandma does!
On Sunday evening, they had a Memorial Day House Party. It was the coolest thing! There were chairs, tables and a stage for the mountain cloggers on their lawn overlooking the lake. Yes I said cloggers!
They went all out for this meal! See….
Check out the creative things they did with the food! Makes me want to play with my food! Ha!
I even knew someone at the resort, it’s a small world isn’t it? Yep, my precious friend Carolina Mama was there with her family!
At first I was taken back by how they set us up to eat. In the dining room, we had the same table every meal time with just Chasin and I. However, for the party they sat us at a table with others. My first thought was “great we are going to be sitting here with complete strangers and I don’t feel like making conversation while eating.” Ha, I know I’m just being bona fide here!
By the end of the evening, the folks we sat with we ended up talking with all night long. The man was 70 years old and we are in our 30′s. Love how God works! As a matter of fact, I believe we were the only table that people were still sitting at when the staff came to clean up. Great people, great food, great dancing…. amazing place!
Our conversation led to other events at the Inn throughout the year. The couple we chatted with come to the Inn at least twice a year. They let us in on another event High Hampton Inn has, the Thanksgiving House Party. I want to go so bad! She told me that they even have holiday craft workshops for all ages among many other things they do during Thanksgiving House Party.
I want to go at Thanksgiving time, who’s in with me?
*Disclosure: We received compensation of two nights stay at High Hampton Inn in return for these posts. However, these words are my own.
**Please remember I wrote on Friday part 1 of our experience at High Hampton Inn, along with some beautiful photos!
Until next time,
